I have always had a passion for healing. My journey with plants began as a little girl, learning plant and folk medicine from my indigenous grandmother and great-grandmother. My grandmother taught me about "baneful" plants—she always emphasized that just because a plant is labeled as poisonous, that doesn't mean it is bad; in fact, these plants can be incredibly helpful in unexpected ways. It was in that moment that I understood that our lives and health are not simply black and white, and that sometimes providing the best care means thinking outside the box!
As I grew, I knew I wanted to help heal people naturally, but I wasn't sure how to start. I wanted to understand the human body; from the smallest cell to the biggest emotion. I worked as a medical assistant for a time, but it wasn't long before I felt compelled do more. I wanted to be able to help people, no matter how bad the situation - and prove that my own clinical judgement was sound. I become an EMT, at one point, an advanced EMT - a position I held for over a decade. Over that time, I gained a profound understanding of people as a whole; not just their physical bodies, but how their environment, diet, support systems, etc. affected their health on both physical and mental levels.
All the while, I continued to actively pursue naturopathic and herbal studies. I attended many classes, workshops, and self-study forums and lectures. I even worked part-time at a state park, allowing me free access to engage in lectures, plant walks, and conservation activities. I took classes and workshops with institutions like The School of Evolutionary Herbalism, The Chestnut School of Herbal Medicine, Herbalista, and many others, with the end-goal of starting my own herbal practice, my way. I eventually earned multiple certifications from a few different educational institutions, covering subjects like herbal medicine making, foraging, clinical herbalism, aromatherapy, and more.
Today, I am a dedicated practitioner of Western Clinical Herbalism and Functional Herbalism. I am a member of Herbalists Without Borders, and regularly look for opportunities to educate and give back. My mission is to collaborate with you to explore the root causes of your concerns, and address them with a customized, multi-faceted approach - lifestyle and nutrition planning, tailor-made herbal tea blends, salves, tinctures, and supplements, and education. I can't wait to meet you and continue our journeys together!
